Special Events

Special events are part of what makes AFJROTC unique: our two main events are the Icebreaker and the End-of-Year Awards Banquet. Every other year (biennially), the Military Ball is 100% organized and conducted by students: the ball exposes students to some of our rich military traditions while providing an opportunity for students to have a great time on the dance floor!

The annual Icebreaker is held at the beginning of the school year to "break the ice" amongst cadets, especially for our firs-year students.  Here the entire cadet corps comes together to share teamwork and camaraderie.  Our annual End-of-Year Awards Banquet is one event that all students look forward to as the "best-of-the-best" are recognized for their outstanding achievements throughout the year. Nearly 25 awards from 18 national organizations such as the Air Force Association, American Legion, the Military Order of the Purple Heart, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Military Order of the World Wars are bestowed upon our outstanding students: many of these awards include monetary scholarships as well! Students also plan many other activities throughout the school year.
