Lieutenant Colonel David J. Worley is in
his ninth full-year as the Senior
Aerospace Science Instructor at Crescenta
Valley High School, La Crescenta,
California. In his capacity,
Lieutenant Colonel Worley serves as a
California credentialed teacher
responsible for the administration of the
school’s Air Force Junior Reserve Officer
Training Corps (AFJROTC) program.
Before his retirement in December, 2002,
Lieutenant Colonel Worley served for over
27 years in the Air Force. During
the span of his Air Force career,
Lieutenant Colonel Worley received
numerous decorations to include the
Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the
Joint Service Commendation Medal, five
Meritorious Service Medals, and two Air
Force Commendation Medals. Lieutenant
Colonel Worley has been selected multiple
times by Headquarters AFJROTC as a
recipient of the Outstanding Instructor
Award, and holds various academic
degrees to include a Bachelor's Degree in
Professional Aeronautics from
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University
in Florida and a Master’s Degree in
Public Administration from Troy State
University in Alabama.
Lieutenant Colonel Worley is a member of
the Military Order of World Wars,
the American Legion, the
Military Officers Association of America,
and the Air Force Association.
Lieutenant Colonel Worley is active in the
local community to include serving on
the Two-Strike Memorial Wall Committee
in La Crescenta. He married
the former Gayle Elizabeth Becker in 1975,
and they have two grown children, Valerie
and Bryan.
